This Wiki is a culmination of work and activities that have been lead and inspired by my pursuit of a Master's Degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University.
I was at a cross road in my teaching career serving as a Peer Facilitator for a K-5 Campus in Science. It is one of the best jobs I have ever had. I am allowed to go to work and inspire children to be curious, explore the world around them and help teachers become better at their chosen careers. What else can you ask for!
But there was something missing. I was still not connecting with some of the students. I spent about a year and a half searching for why students weren't engaged. Let's face it, my lessons were exciting, engaging, and awe inspiring. But for those that just didn't believe the hype, how could we hook them into education?
One of my dearest friends and colleagues called one day and asked if I had seen the notice on Lamar University's online partnership program with the school district. I had, but really didn't have the time. She insisted that I meet her just to get information.
I thank her everyday for the shove off the cliff.
I have meet some amazing people, though never in person. We have had many adventures with online chatting with adobe and google. I adore my classmates and would do anything for them. I actually speak with my professor through chatting, email and face to face in online chats. Something I never did in a regular classroom setting.
The above video was inspirational for me and I am so glad that a friend asked if I knew where to find it. I located it and wanted to add it to my page.
